Topic : Solving Linear Equation ( X=? )

This was the first page of the packet my tutor gave me . My strategy I used was that I did these same problems over and over and over , probably once a day for 3 weeks till I could fluidly do them with out looking up the answers on the internet. And I did type in the equations many times on good to remember the order in which the steps I had to do. Linear equations look hard but they aren't they can be done in a minuet once you get the hang of them.

Study Strategy :

1. Do these 12 problems 1 time daily for 3 weeks, If you have to look up the problem on the internet do it and write out the steps to the get the answer until you can do them fluidly.

2. For the Linear Equation division problems look up videos on youtube

This is a list of my favorite linear equation youtube videos:

Strategy :

1. Distribute inside parenthesis

2. Combine like terms on each side

3. Move Variable to the left, number to the right

4. Divide or multiply by the coefficient

1. 5x=20

2. -3x=15

3. 2x-1=5

4. -4x+1=21

5. ( write as a fraction )

x/2= 5

6. ( write as a fraction )

x/3= 10

7. 3 ( 2x+3)=15

8. -5(3x-1)=20

9. 5(x-1)-2x=19

10. 3(x+1)+2x=18

11. 3x+1+ -2x+21

12. 5x+1=2x+13
